Clear jams from the input tray area

To remove paper from the Tray 1 area, simply pull the paper slowly out of the printer. For all other trays, follow the steps below.

Slide the tray out of the printer, and then remove the damaged paper from the tray.

If the edge of the paper is visible in the feed area, slowly pull the paper down and out of the printer. If the paper is not visible, look for the paper in the top cover area.

If the paper cannot be moved easily, do not force it. If paper is stuck in the tray, try removing it through the top of the tray (if possible) or from the top cover area.
Before replacing the tray, make sure the paper is flat in the tray at the corners and under the tabs on the guides.

Open and close the top cover to clear the jam message, if the jam message still appears, there is still paper jammed inside the printer. Look for jammed paper in another location.
